6th Year Report

Dear 6th Year Parents/Guardians,

Your daughter’s Pre-Examination results are now available to view on VSware.

The Pre-Exams provide students with valuable experience of working under exam conditions, particularly in relation to time management, pacing and becoming familiar with the structure and style of the Leaving Cert exam papers. With almost three months still remaining before the State Examinations, there is significant time ahead for courses to be completed and revised and for students to learn more about their exam approach.

For this reason, the results should neither be given undue importance nor taken too lightly. Rather, they should be viewed as an important learning opportunity, allowing students to reflect on their progress to date and to focus their efforts on areas where improvement can be made in the weeks ahead.

The Leaving Certificate is a marathon rather than a sprint and students should continue to focus on having good daily routines, completing revision in manageable sections, practising exam questions and making the most of the guidance of their teachers, particularly if considering any different approach to an exam section or any changing of levels.

Orals 2026 - linked here

Please find linked here the overview of rules and regulations regarding oral exams.

Please note in detail the rules about notifying your examiner on the day of the Sraith you have studied in preparation for the oral exam. Details are starting to arrive regarding  examiners but it will be next week before schedules can start as we won’t have all examiner details until then.

Remember that the examiners will always try their best for your daughters and for you as they too have students back at their own schools and understand how important it is for each of you. Remember too to remind your daughters to take a proportionate approach to your preparation. It’s important yes but so is your other ongoing work across each subject.

Mr. Driscoll will be your exam aide across the orals this year and in June for State Exams and I will be working closely with him on all aspects so we’ll do everything we can to keep things running smoothly for you all.

At school level, we do not allocate students to examiners or dates and times of arrival and departure to examiners either. We will not receive all details from individual examiners until early next week and thus, schedules will not be shared until Friday March March 20th at earliest.
