Dear 3rd Year Parents/Guardians,
Your daughter’s Pre-Examination results are now available to view on VSware.
The Pre-Exams provide students with valuable experience of working under exam conditions, particularly in relation to time management, pacing and becoming familiar with the structure and style of the examination papers. With almost three months still remaining before the State Examinations, there is significant time ahead for courses to be completed and for students to gain further practice in answering exam questions.
For this reason, the results should neither be given undue importance nor taken too lightly. Rather, they should be viewed as an important learning opportunity, allowing students to reflect on their progress to date and to focus their efforts on areas where improvement can be made in the weeks ahead.
Should your daughter wish to move to Ordinary Level in English, Irish or Mathematics, this should first be discussed with her subject teacher. If, following this discussion, your daughter wishes to change level, parents/guardians must complete this Google Form confirming your consent.
We also ask that all parents take 2 minutes to fill out this form on 1:to:1 devices.
Examination Fees were reintroduced by the Government in Budget 2026, fees will be charged at the same rate as when they were last charged in 2019; that is €116 per entry for Leaving Certificate and €109 per entry for Junior Cycle candidates. Candidates who hold a full medical card, or who are covered for all services on a parent or guardian’s full medical card, are exempt from examination fees. Individual payment details will be sent to schools next week and shared with parents and students.
Regards,
Mr. Seán Twomey
Principal
