Autumn Assessments and Preparation for Pre-Exams
The Autumn Assessments mark an important step in the learning journey as students prepare for the Junior Cycle in June 2026. These exams should have provided valuable experience for your daughter as she prepares for the Pre-Examinations in February and the feedback should help as they consider subject options for Senior Cycle and subject levels in Maths, Irish and English. The next window for subject level changes will be after the Pre Examinations in February 2026.
Pre-Examinations
The approximate dates for the Junior Cycle Pre Examinations are from the 3rd February to the 13th February 2026. These are approximate dates and there is a possibility that the exams may need to commence on the 30th January should the exam timetable require an extra day. Further details will be issued in January once the PRE Timetable has been finalised.

Supporting famine relief, assistance to those affected by drought conditions and assisting the educational work of the S.M.G order in schools in Kitui, East Kenya, St. Vincent de Paul, Carrigtwohill and Bumbleance Children's Ambulance Service.

A huge well done to all our 3rd years for their wonderful Christmas outfits and costumes.
Phones Usage at Christmas:
Christmas provides a wonderful two week break for all 3rd year students. We have advised them to study hard for the month of December so that they can really enjoy Christmas week with their family and friends. Routines will “go out the window” during Christmas with late night films and events on each evening. However, we would ask all parents to please consider the advice of Dr. Richard Hogan - continue to take your daughter’s phone each evening at 9pm. It should not be in the bedroom with her as no good can come of it. We sometimes find that it is during the school holidays where friendship issues can arise as students are out of their routine, on Social Media for longer periods than normal and thus sometimes make the wrong choices. We would ask you to continue to practice phone and internet safety.
