Dear Parents/ Guardians,
We are happy to inform you that the 1st Year students will be going on an educational school trip on Friday, 22nd May. Students will visit the Mitchelstown Caves and Rock of Cashel. This will be a great opportunity for the students to engage in learning outside of the classroom.
The itinerary for the day is as follows:
● 8:45 AM – Departure from school (Glenmary)
● 9:45 AM - Arrive at Mitchelstown Caves where students will explore the caves with a guided tour, discovering the geological formations and natural beauty.
● 11:45 AM - Small lunch break
● 12:00 PM – Depart for Rock of Cashel
● 12:20 PM – Arrive at the Rock of Cashel where students will be brought on a guided tour of this historic site, learning about its fascinating history and cultural significance.
● 1:40 PM – Depart for McDonald's, Fermoy before returning to school.
● 3:35 PM – Students to be collected as per the normal school day.
The cost for the tour is €20 per student, which covers transport and entrance fees. Payment can be made via the SWOOFEE link: Mitchelstown Caves & Rock of Cashel €20. Please complete the payment by Friday 1st of May.
Students will need a packed lunch for their small break. If students wish to purchase food at McDonald's during the lunch stop, they should bring their own spending money. Students are required to wear their PE uniform and suitable footwear for the trip. Closer to the date, we will have a better idea of weather and guidance will be provided to students at assembly.
We look forward to a great day! Le gach dea - ghuí,
Seánie Lenihan, Geography & Business Teacher.
