School Transport Applications 2026/27 – Important Notice
The School Transport Scheme (Bus Éireann, on behalf of the Department of Education and Youth) opens today Friday 27 March for applications and payments.
Closing date: Friday 8 May 2026
Key Information: Information for parents:
- All families must apply via the Bus Éireann Family Portal
- This includes students from Ukraine and those in IPAS/EROC accommodation
- Failure to apply and pay (or provide medical card details) will mean no ticket will be offered
Costs for 2026/27:
- €100 per child (Primary & Post-Primary)
- Family maximum: €200 (Primary) / €220 (Post-Primary)
- Option to pay in instalments is now available
Free Transport:
- Eligible families with a medical card
- Students eligible for SEN transport
