Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we approach the end of the school year, I would like to share a few important updates with you.
Firstly, I want to commend the 2nd Year group for their positive attitude and contribution to school spirit as well as their good work ethic. They have been truly outstanding during the year. No matter the reason, their interactions with me were always met with understanding and open mindedness. I am very grateful to the students for that.
I’m also pleased to let you know that I will be continuing on as Year Head with this group into 3rd Year. I very much look forward to supporting them on the next stage of their journey here in St. Aloysius.
I would like to express my thanks to the 2nd Year class tutors for their ongoing care, encouragement, and guidance throughout the year. Their dedication and positive relationships with the students have made a real difference.
School Tour:
Details regarding the upcoming 2nd Year School trips to the Three Countries Tour have already been shared with the parents and guardians of those travelling. The tour has a full and exciting itinerary. We wish all staff and students an enjoyable and safe journey.
School Book Scheme:
As part of the new Book Scheme, your daughter received all books and stationary at the beginning of 2nd year.
Your daughter’s 2nd year textbooks will follow her into 3rd year. Therefore, it is very important that when your daughter empties her locker this week and that she gathers and checks she has all her text books and brings them home safely and keeps them there for the summer months.
Books that have been lost during the year will not be replaced under the book scheme and must be replaced by the student. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Fernandez on e.fernandez@saintals.ie
Stationary and Exam Papers will be provided under the book scheme and you will be advised of a date to collect these items from the book shop in June.
3rd year Maths and Irish:
Some students may be advised to move to Ordinary Level Maths and or Irish if their subject teacher feels they are at risk of failing the Higher Level exam. Once summer reports are issued in June, the Maths and Irish Coordinators will provide the Principal with a list of recommended changes. Parents will receive a Change of Level form and must complete it in June to ensure your daughter is in the correct class in September.
Your daughter will return to school on Friday 28th August for her Third Year induction morning followed by classes.
