Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to inform you that Supervised Study for the 2025-26 academic year will commence on Wednesday 7th January 2026.
In line with our commitment to supporting students through their exam preparation, priority placement will be offered to our 3rd and 6th Year students. Any remaining spaces will then be made available to 5th Year students.
Supervised Study will take place on the following days:
-
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays: 4:15 pm – 7:15 pm
-
Wednesdays: 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
-
Fridays: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
We are grateful to our Parents’ Association for their invaluable feedback in refining this programme, and we are delighted to introduce two new Supervised Study packages for the upcoming academic year.
Supervised Study Packages:
Parents/Guardians can now choose from:
-
Three-Day Package Term 1: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday- €180
-
Five-Day Package Term 1: Full week attendance (Monday to Friday)- €200
Please note that the days within the three-day package are fixed and cannot be altered.
We recognise that many students have extracurricular commitments on Wednesdays and Fridays. The three-day package offers a more flexible and cost-effective solution for these families. For those wishing to avail of a more comprehensive option, the five-day package remains available.
Supervised Study Protocols
At St. Aloysius’ College, we hold high expectations for our students and are committed to ensuring that Supervised Study is a productive and supportive environment. To this end, the following protocols will apply:
-
Attendance is strictly monitored. The Supervisor will take attendance daily, and parents/guardians will be notified via VSware text if their daughter is absent.
-
Consistent attendance is essential. Weekly attendance is overseen by the Supervised Study Coordinator. Students with repeated unexplained absences (without a medical certificate) will forfeit their place, which will then be offered to another student on the waiting list.
-
Punctuality is mandatory. Study begins promptly at 4:15 pm. Students who arrive late will be marked accordingly. After three recorded late arrivals, parents will be contacted.
-
Breaks must be respected. Students returning late from the scheduled 5:45 pm break will also be noted, and repeated lateness will result in parental contact.
-
Full attendance for each session is expected. Students must remain for the entire duration of study. In exceptional cases where a student has an unavoidable appointment, they may only leave during the 5:45 pm break. If an appointment is scheduled before this time, we kindly ask students not to attend study that day to minimise disruption.
-
School uniform is required at all times. Non-uniform items are not permitted and will be confiscated.
-
Mobile phones are strictly prohibited during study. All devices must be switched off and stored in the Mobile Phone Box provided by the Supervisor.
-
Food is only permitted during the designated break time
